17 October 2024 – Microsoft has officially launched the Microsoft Digital Defense Report 2024, shedding light on significant trends and evolving threats in cybersecurity. This year’s report emphasizes the increasing sophistication of cyber threats, particularly focusing on how emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), are being weaponized by state actors to exploit vulnerabilities across various sectors.

In response to these alarming developments, the PAM Centre for Global Studies (CGS) is conducting critical research on the Malicious Use Of AI and Emerging Technologies. In collaboration with the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate (CTED), CGS is producing a comprehensive report that analyzes the threats posed by AI misuse by terrorist and criminal groups, thereby providing valuable insights to inform policymakers and enhance global security measures.
