With a focus on ethical AI governance, the OECD’s upcoming framework will guide governments in deploying AI responsibly in the justice sector. HiiL, in alignment with the OECD Recommendation on Access to Justice, is supporting the design of people-centered justice solutions that are fair, transparent, and inclusive.
PAM, which maintains a longstanding and productive collaboration with the OECD, actively supports initiatives which promote responsible innovation in artificial intelligence, ensuring its benefits are accessible to all members of society.
Furthermore, PAM, supported by its Centre for Global Studies (CGS), in partnership with the UN Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) and the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), published a comprehensive report etitled “The Malicious Use of AI and Emerging Technologies by Terrorist and Criminal Groups: Impact on Security, Legislation, and Governance.” The report underwent a rigorous peer review process involving contributions from the UN system, alongside strategic partners and leading think tanks such as Amazon, INTERPOL, Media Duemila, NATO, The Policy Center for the New South, and the Global Research Network (GRN) of CTED.
The report sets essential guidelines to ensure the responsible use of AI, emphasizing robust frameworks for security, governance, and legislative measures to counter the malicious exploitation of emerging technologies by terrorist and criminal groups.
